BE PREPARED FOR ICE

(Based on the full info at wethepeopledefend.org)

Have your proof of natural-born citizenship or proof of status on you at all times.

If you are not a natural-born U.s. citizen be sure to set up a relationship with a local immigration attorney.
Carry your immigration attorney’s contact information with you at all times, and try to memorize their number.

Set your phone so it needs a pin or password to be unlocked.

Turn on ‘share your location’ and share it with a trusted person.

IF YOU ARE STOPPED OR TAKEN BY ICE OR CBP

Be polite. Do not be belligerent or hostile.

Show them your proof of citizenship or status.

Ask them “Am I free to leave?”
– If they say “yes”, leave.
– If they say “no”, ask them why, and then tell them you want to call your attorney, and do NOT answer any other questions, respond to each question with “T am invoking my right to remain silent, and I want to call my attorney.”

– Do not unlock your phone for them unless they are able to produce a warrant that they let you read.

– CALL YOUR ATTORNEY!
