Thank you for contacting me regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine. I appreciate hearing from you and having the opportunity to respond. On February 24, 2022, Russia illegally invaded Ukraine through the Donbas region, Crimea, and the Belarus and Russian borders. This was a flagrant and unacceptable act of war against a sovereign nation. Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion, Ukraine has been increasingly challenged to defend against Russian advances…
Like my fellow Americans, I have watched with horror as the Russian army unleashed terrible violence on the Ukrainian people, and I have also marveled at the strength and determination of the Ukrainian people, who have determined for themselves how they want to be governed and have stood strong in the face of invasion and appalling acts of war… rest assured that I am carefully monitoring this situation with your comments in mind. This is a dynamic and grave situation, and as Congress considers how to respond to Russian aggression in Europe, I value your input on how these issues affect Idahoans.

At this point you may be wondering why these We the People Defend members are calling Republican senators. Some of our action items do suggest calling specific Republican senators when they do the right thing, to let them know that we appreciate it when they do the right thing, instead of the party thing. Part of righting this ship is encouraging Republicans to stand up to the current administration, and to do the right thing for the people, instead of letting Trump bully them into complacency, thereby letting the wrong thing happen. And it’s working!
